All persons of voting age must be registered to vote. You can pre-register any time of the year up to 20 days before the election. Late registration can be done in the clerk’s office during the 20 days before an election up to the Friday before the election or in person on Election Day.
A person has to re-register to vote if they have a name or address change. Proof of current address within the Town is required when registering or re-registering to vote. Acceptable documents include: current property tax bill, current utility bill, recent paycheck stub or unexpired driver’s license or WI ID card (see Acceptable Residence Verification list link below.
What to bring to the Polls
You must present an acceptable form of Photo ID. See Acceptable ID verification link below and verification of address if registering on Election Day.
Acceptable Residence Verification
Voting by Absentee Ballot by Mail or In Person
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote by absentee ballot for a single election or for an entire year. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.
You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing.
You can submit a written request to the clerk in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your physical address, the address the absent ballot should be sent, if different, date and signature. This written letter can be submitted to the clerk by email, mail, fax or in person. Please submit with copy of photo ID.

Absentee Voting by Mail
The deadline for submitting the application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is 5 pm on the fifth day before the election.
Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized or serving as a sequestered Juror. If this applies to you. Contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
In Person Absentee Voting
You may also vote an absentee ballot in person at the clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person. You do not need to file a request form for voting in person. Bring acceptable form of Photo ID.

The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is the 3rd Monday before an election. The last day to vote an in person absentee ballot is Friday before an election. No weekend or holiday request. NO in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election. Photo ID must be presented before a ballot will be issued to you. See acceptable ID verification items under the election tab.
The municipal clerk/deputy clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before the Election Day to the polling location before the polls close. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.
